Stressful times..

Yes it’s that time of year again when summer is just around the corner and all the deadlines are drawing closer… We all know the feeling, panic starts to set home.

How long is it till the first assessment is in? Really then, are you sure?

This is a stressful time, staring blankly at the computer screen I must complete x amount words before the day becomes night.

This will happen but as the pressure mounts an hour or two passes and you find yourself 50 words on staring at the nearly almost blank word document.

I truly believe that pressure affects us in many different ways; many perform to a better ability and the likes of me well I crack.

Deadline the dreaded word… As we approach hand in dates, all will be well and work will be complete.

I will not stress, pressure will not affect me… and I will not crack!

Deadlines they will be done!

P.S- Let’s all be done and have a PARRTTYY!!

Much love to all

Thousands Hit London

Its is upon us once again the London Marathon

Thousands of runners including charities and celebrities are turning out for the largest single fundraising event in the world.

About 35,000 runners are expected to turn up for the race, the race which is 26.2 miles began this morning with bright conditions.

Runners taking part include celebrities Katie Price and Peter Andre who have been training hard for the race. Reports claim that Katie has taken this very seriously and has enforced a sex ban, as she does not want to jeopardise her performance in the race.

Other celebrities include Chef Gordon Ramsay, who is running his tenth marathon.
Chef Ramsay said: "It's time for a celebration. We're fighting a global credit crunch, and in terms of coming out and having fun, it costs nothing to come and watch".

Major Phil Packer, a paraplegic who was crippled in a rocket attack in the Iraqi last year hopes to complete the race in 13 days and raise £1m for the charity Help The Heroes.

Maj Packer will run the walk on crutches and aims to complete two miles per day; this will be a great achievement for Maj. Packer who was told he might not walk ever again after the accident.

For the elite athletes taking part the favourite is reigning champion Irina Mikitenko of Germany. British favourite Paula Radcliffe will not be taken part due to a broken toe, our hopes now faded.

Male favourite is Kenyan runner Sammy Wanjiru to take the title after defending champion Martin Lel had to withdraw on Saturday after suffering a hip injury.

Let’s hope the day is a success and raises money and awareness for all charities involved!

Much love

P.s All the best to the brave competitors!

Goldberg's Divine Right

As we approach May the highly anticipated stage show is to open in the West End.

Whoopi Goldberg and Stage Entertainment have joined forces to produce the premiere of Sister Act, a new musical comedy based on the international hit movie.

The show will open at the London Palladium on Tuesday 2 June 2009 with previews from Wednesday 6 May.

The musical which first premiered in the US in 2006, opening in Pasadena, California now to premiered at the West End with the promise of success.

After the first week tickets were released for sale 1million in bookings were taken at London Palladium box office. This equates to over 25,000 seats booked for the highly awaited production.

With the announcement that Whoopi Goldberg will co-produce the musical this must have only helped the sales increase.

Whoopi Goldberg is a well known global performer. She shot to fame with her Oscar-nominated performance in Steven Spielberg’s, ‘The colour purple’ which then lead her to phenomenal Hollywood career with films such as Jumpin’ Jack Flash, The Lion King and many more.

The music produced by Alan Menken, eight-time Oscar winner along with Glenn Slater who are long time collaborators.

If the success of many other musicals from screen to stage is to go by then ‘Sister Act’ looks as if it will be extremely popular and in demand for the next coming years.

I know that I definitely want to see it!

Much love

P.s- Whoopi G = Legend

Time to celebrate guys and girls, Cheryl has hit number 1.

For those who love Cheryl Cole will only believe this is another achievement after her distressing year.

Mrs Cole has beaten off some of the most beautiful women in the world, yes ‘world’ to be polled as FHM number one most sexiest woman of the year 09.

She has beaten off the likes of the stunning Jessica Alba and the gorgeous Megan Fox.

This is not only achievement for Cheryl but the British public as we always seemed to be piped to the poll by the yanks.

On a final note, the beautiful Jane McDonald who is simply fabulous was polled at 910 out of the 1000 women.

Much love

P.s- You deserve it Cheryl.

Ryanair causing a stir again!

Why is it that Ryanair always like to cause a bit of controversy?

Ryanair are seriously considering introducing ‘fat tax’ for overweight passengers.
So is this another money making scheme from the heads of the company?

The low cost airline is considering to introduce an excess charge for very large
passengers or even make them purchase another seat.

This comes after 30,000 people voted in favour of the measure on the website.
The poll was taken from 100,000 people suggesting cost cutting ideas.

This shows that 1 in 3 people thought it would be a good idea to charge overweight people extra. I’m not to sure if I entirely agree with this idea or if it is just Ryanair making a quick buck.

Your thoughts are very much welcome?

Much love to all

P.s- Ryanair does know how to shake it up!

Bring me sunshine..

Wow, how fabulous have the last few days been?

I can’t remember the last time I was in the sun, ah yeah it was on Holiday in September.

Don’t the British just love it when the sun briefly shines, so as soon as rays beam down, the quiet of the street suddenly becomes alive with sound.

The smell of fresh cut and grass and essential that completes the British summer the classic bbq.

So let’s forget the rainy days and celebrate the sun shining.

This only means one thing holiday season is around the corner, its time to raid the wardrobe ransack the draws to find the key pieces every girl needs to drop it like its ‘hot’.

Please, Please, Please so let it shine on me!

Much love to all

P.s. Rain Hater… Sun Shiner….

Glamour models do they have a lot to answer for.........

As I was browsing the Internet I needed my fix of trashy gossip to fulfill a less than hectic morning.

Heatworld was the ideal solution; fulfillment obtained immediately. I came across this article which amused me.
The article is shown with a clip from Snog, Marry, Avoid? which airs on BBC Three.

It shows a glamour model and her friends hitting the town in ‘the’ skimpiest outfit.

To me this piece was highly amusing, it just makes me wonder why any girl would find it necessary to go out in literally nothing?
As quoted by the glamour model Samantha; “I view underwear as not just underwear”.

Really so do glamour models for a lot to answer for?
Personally I do not think this is a positive image and feel sorry for girls who do this to create attention.

Let’s just hope that younger girls do not aspire to become this way….

On a positive note, Samantha will have a makeunder on the BBC 3 show to highlight that you can look classy and draw attention by actually wearing clothes.

Much love

P.s Let's hope Samantha can remain wearing clothes....

Facebook Trauma!

Why it is that every time you log on to your computer the first thing that you think about is logging on to facebook??...
Facebook is central to your life, the addiction that fuels you to want more… you did only check your account two hours ago and the purpose of checking it again really does not make much sense.
But really you may have a new notification, which needs checking!
Really or yes the photo’s from the other night maybe up and you want to de-tag yourself before the whole world and more gets to see you looking terribly shameful, of course the family will see the photos.
The news of me going out again, would only spread like a vicious virus, as you know family, what more do they have to discuss than my life to make family life sound more interesting. So, you know that would be another topical conversation at the dinner table, "Charlotte antics".
As I once again log on to my account it’s only been the third time this day, rather sad I know.
Knowing that they will be no notifications but I still wait for my home page to load, scrolling down looking at the current events, issues, dramas that my friends have been facing.
Well I say friends, can you honestly say that every person you have added on facebook are your friends?
The thing with facebook is that people that wouldn’t generally speak to, would add you? What is up with that? Sometimes it is just so false!
Although you realise that facebook shouldn't dominate your existence it really does, you have to admit it. The issue with facebook, it really can cause a lot of drama without you even knowing. You can’t leave a message or status without someone assuming something that may or may not be the truth.
Although the status application is for you to express your feelings, but really trust me sometimes it isn’t a good idea to express your feelings explicitly haha.
The whole idea of facebook may die out as myspace did and a new craze will come along but for moment I will still stay true to my account. The account that causes more drama than its worth but doesn’t everyone love it!

P.s- New craze Twitter, twitter out! Facebook Rules #1

Much love to all

Oh no hazardous drinking!!!!

So come on really what is this all about, latest news that the Chief Medical Officer proposed plans to increase the price of alcohol?
Is that really going to reduce the levels on binge drinking or is it just a plan to make more money from the consumer. At the end of day we all like a drink some more than others, not mentioning any names…. Can we all be tarred with the same brush? We are not all raving alcoholics’ exception for us students!
The plan is already implemented in Scotland but do we really need to follow suit, I suggest not!
Although this is a serious topic, drinking is apart of our culture and it will not just be washed out as prices rise. I know that it will not stop me and my girlies enjoying our intoxicated nights out it just means we may have to become more intoxicated in the house before hitting the town!
Oh well, my apologies Mr Chief Medical Officer but your plans will not prevent me from reaching for the bottle.
Yes I may sound cynical but I’m young and really I’m only living as much as the next person. On serious note let’s not get too wasted this weekend as I do have work on Sunday…..
So I could go on further about this crazed idea the hierarchy have on society but this would become rather boring and I’d just be a total moaner, it really wouldn’t be to exciting to read!

Much love to all

Xxxx Peace out. xxxX

P.s – I’m not an alcoholic I just like alcohol

Confessions of a Sinner....

So, my blog may entertain more than others, girls yes, guy’s maybe... Guys you may enjoy reading my attempt at pitiful humour through my more than sinful ways or it may just be that you can relate this to your girlfriend as she maybe as equally as sinful as moi! Let's hope not?

Are you a shopaholic????

Does it mean you have issues, slight problems when you know you have more or less of a zero bank balance and you still proceed to spend. Yes the atm did just give me the correct up to date balance but that doesn't matter because there is always that free money your given when the balance dries up, yes that is called the free student overdraft facility.
So with the money available you find yourself back at the shopping centre the beloved centre that relieves stress takes away any unwanted problems, the buzz that you get from prettyful things!
As you walk through the door the intense pressure mounts to find the desired purchase you need, the rush of the shop as you catch a glimpse through the corner of eye, pretty sparking shimmers demanding your attention but no there you see them positioned perfectly under the light on the shelve. Your focused alert, your attention is in one direction, heading towards before that girl in front goes to get them. You reach out to find that YES perfect, YES I said perfect pair of shoes. Yes you may already have X amount of shoes but does that really matter?
Ummm is that my mum’s voice I can hear "Charlotte how many pairs of shoes will that be now? Don't come running to me or your dad when you have no money left!"
Right so that little voice or should I say rather loud irritating voice I’d rather not hear. The voice which is grounded sensible not crazy and erratic which drives you to emotional purchasing but to be honest really, is that going to stop a girl on a mission?.....
As I glide my rather orange feet which already prepared for the intoxicated night ahead, orange being the gleaming tan appearance that I ore!
The shoes are on, as I parade towards the mirror laughing with my friends, Claire; “yes you do look like a show horse, keep picking your feet up and you’re off! Keep strutting". Approaching the mirror with five inch heels thinking I will remain on my feet.
WOW, there fantastic! I absolutely love them! I have to have them, all previous thoughts washed away with the over powering buzz of new shoes. Think sensibly charlotte, I have no money umm.... Claire: “But charlotte, seriously they look so good and they can be worn with so many outfits"

Ok dilemma would you buy the shoes?

This is actual nightmare for me, this sounds terribly OTT and dramatic but why is my life always a total drama...?
Shoes or negative balance??
So you have guessed it!!!!! The power of pretty tan colour five inch shoes got the better of my ridiculous mind set.
My sinful ways once again were released! This had only been the 5th pair of shoes I had bought in the past week and a half, crazy yes that’s me!
OMG girls please if your reading this take my advice really think about the next time you hit the shopping centre, is it really worth putting yourself through the traumatic stress of purchasing shoes that really aren't needed... ummm....
Resist the dark side, don't sin or you will become a sinner just like me, your confession will be merge to the surface!!!
This confession has been one of many!

Much love charlotte.xxx

P.S- why is shopping called retail therapy???
